The Hills Restaurant At Hampshire Hills Information

Tucked inside the scenic grounds at 50 Emerson Rd in Milford, New Hampshire, The Hills Restaurant At Hampshire Hills feels like one of those places you stumble upon once and then keep coming back to. The location itself sets the tone, overlooking a beautifully maintained golf course that adds a relaxed, open-air charm, especially if you manage to grab a table near the windows or out on the patio during warmer months.

The menu leans into classic American comfort food with a slightly upscale twist, and it’s clear from the first bite that the kitchen knows what it’s doing. A standout for many regulars is the steak tips-tender, well-seasoned, and cooked just right-paired nicely with garlic mashed potatoes that are creamy without being overly heavy. Seafood options, like baked haddock or pan-seared salmon, are also solid choices, fresh-tasting and thoughtfully plated. Even the appetizers, like crispy calamari or loaded nachos, arrive with generous portions, making them perfect for sharing.

Service here tends to match the easygoing atmosphere. Staff are friendly without being overbearing, and there’s a genuine sense that they want you to enjoy your time rather than rush through your meal. On a recent visit, the server offered helpful suggestions from the menu and checked in just often enough to keep things smooth without interrupting conversation. It’s the kind of attentive but relaxed service that makes a difference, especially during a busy dinner hour.

The dining room strikes a comfortable balance between casual and polished. You’ll see a mix of families, couples, and groups of friends, all blending into an environment that feels welcoming rather than formal. Large windows let in plenty of natural light during the day, while evenings take on a cozier feel with soft lighting and a quieter pace. Reviews from locals often highlight this versatility, noting it’s just as suitable for a laid-back lunch as it is for a special occasion dinner.

One thing worth noting is that peak times-especially weekends-can get busy, and wait times may stretch a bit without a reservation. Still, the overall experience tends to justify the patience. Between the satisfying menu variety, the scenic location, and the consistently positive reviews from the community, it’s easy to see why this spot holds its reputation as a go-to dining option in the Milford area.

What People's Say About Place

Absolutely outstanding experience! I was not expecting to do a review on The Hills restaurant. My wife, kids and I decided to quickly sit down to dinner after using the pool in the Hampshire Hills Athletic Club (don't worry if you are not a member, dining is open to the public!). It was a Thursday night around 6pm. There was live music (I think Travis Rollo). We were seated and greeted right away. The lovely waitress was quick with a smile and our first round of drinks. She was knowledgeable about the menu, very attentive, and extremely kind! First, check out the photo of our round of drinks and the appetizer: Brussel sprouts. I love to challenge a new restaurant and order something I wouldn't normally, like spouts! We were blown away. Great flavor and even better dipping sauce! Any dining establishment that can have me raving about Brussel sprouts is doing something right. Please also check out that photo for half of the menu! Next, the kid's food came out hot and fast. My kids are picky (sound familiar?) and this is the place to take them for choice kid's meals, plus ice cream included! Buttered pasta with fancy pasta, fries, cucumber slices, and choice of drink. My favorite up next: the steak tips. They weren't just to die for, there was so many! I ended up taking most of it home for a late night snack (which did not disappoint). The red wine sauce was a game changer. So good I tried recreating at home - which was not successful. The green beans on the side and side salad were also outstanding. This was a night that is going to be tough to beat. It had everything: live music with requests, great food, great drinks, wonderful service, and all within an easy to get to, park, and enjoy location. The bathrooms and locker rooms are new and always clean. Safe location for kids to wander around (if you are a member). Lastly, check out the photos in front of The Hills! Gorgeous area hugging against farmland - absolutely blown away by this experience. Needless to say, I am trying to work in a weekly buzz by The Hills even to stop in at the bar (check photo) or to grab take out, which is quick and easy. Don't sleep on The Hills, especially if you are not a member! Try it out today, you will not be disappointed.

What a hidden gem! We recently tried this place for a weeknight date on a whim! The dining room is immaculately clean, as are the bathrooms. The atmosphere is so cozy, with the roaring fireplace, fresh flowers on the tables, and real candles. We weren’t rushed and the staff were attentive and kind. The food was excellent! We tried a few appetizers and my husband’s baked haddock with broccolini was outstanding. Don’t skip the chicken tenders…they taste freshly breaded and remind me of southern style similar to Zaxby’s, but better! I also tried a side of Mac n cheese and was so impressed that it wasn’t soggy, freshly cooked pasta with a homemade cheese sauce. We also found both the food and our bottle of wine to be very fairly priced. We can’t wait for our next visit!

Love The Hills. Awesome for a quick bite after a workout or taking by the know day to the pool. But also just as good for a family n dinner out or a date night. The food is always great. They only thing better than the food is the awesome service.

You don’t need a membership to eat at the restaurant and it’s worth it. The drinks are on pint and the food is amazing. So far we had every dish and they haven’t failed us yet! The bartender and waitresses are so nice and friendly. Great place for dinner with the family or by yourself.

Great first night out on the deck for Spring opening! Gorgeous weather, entertaining live music with a good song mix, the nachos were very tasty and piled high and the salads were very fresh. A favorite local place to go in Milford to catch up with friends and relax for the evening!

Dinner on the outdoor dining area was great. The steak tips and lobster Mac and cheese were amazing!! Awesome to watch a tennis game while dining. I would recommend checking it out.

Food - Excellent Service - Excellent Atmosphere - It was clear you were eating above a gym the entire time. The setting was upscale - but gym smells kept coming in all the time, the "view" was the gym area and to get to the eating area there was a mandatory walk past the gym. Additionally, people dressed in gym clothes continuously walked in and out of the dining area - ruining the upscale feel of the place. Was a very odd and conflicting experience. Would have been 5 stars across the board if the restaurant was in its own location. Will get takeout next time.

Our nachos appetizer was rough, it is not your typical nachos. Thankfully our main dishes were fabulous! My margarita is awesome too. I thought it was going to be a fancy country club but it was not. Dinners most likely were members after playing tennis or swimming.
